Charleston Imaging Products has acquired JBN Office Equipment of North Charleston; a move that officials say will broaden the product and service offerings of both companies.

JBN Office Equipment, founded in 1977, sells and services business supplies including toner and ink cartridges, shredders and typewriters. Charleston Imaging Products, founded in 1992, offers higher-end office equipment such as color printers and provides network integration and document management services.

Operating together, the two companies can offer a wider range of products and services to their existing clients, which total about 3,000, said Sean Mummert, president of Charleston Imaging Products. All of the companies’ clients are local, he said.

“It’s a god hybrid because we can help those (customers) with IT support, and at the same time help then with equipment,” Mummert said. “Everything is staying the same, it’s just we’re adding more services for the customers to help them out.”
